
No. 1 CSM hosts No. 3 Modesto with trip to State Championships on the line
Top-seeded College of San Mateo hosts No. 3 Modesto Junior College in the 2024 Northern California Football Conference (NCFC) Championship on Saturday, Nov. 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. at CSM's College Heights Stadium.
Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason game at CSM are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Tickets are available online at the CSM Athletics website. | TICKETS

ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
San Mateo is playing in the Northern California championship game for the fifth straight season. The Bulldogs earned their spot with a 41-7 rout over No. 4 American River College in the NorCal semifinals last Saturday.
After a slow start, CSM starting rolling in the second quarter before blowing the game open in the third. The Bulldogs were forced to punt on their first four possessions but went on to score 31 unanswered points.
Dominic Ingrassia tossed a pair of TDs and passed for 221 yards. KB Boone-Nelson had 4 receptions for 123 yards with a touchdown. Lolo Mataele led CMS on the ground with 13 carries for 95 yards and 2 TDs.
The San Mateo defense allowed just 8 first downs and a fourth-quarter touchdown to the Beavers. Malaki Teo totaled 6 tackles with a sack to lead the Bulldogs.
CSM has won eight straight games and enters Saturday's contest with a 10-1 overall record. Over the last four games, the Bulldogs have outscored their opponents by a 205-21 margin.
Overall, San Mateo is averaging 352.5 yards and 34.7 points per game this season while the defense is averaging 227.7 yards and just 11.5 points allowed.

ABOUT MODESTO
No. 3 Modesto is currently riding a six-game winning streak and brings a 9-2 overall record into Saturday's game. Modesto needed two overtimes to defeat No. 4 Fresno City College 31-28 in its NorCal semifinal last week. The Pirates blocked a potential game-winning Fresno field goal in the first overtime before kicking a 36-yard field goal of their own in the second OT to secure the win.
Modesto quarterback Luke Weaver completed 14 of 22 passes for 361 yards and 3 TDs.
Overall, MJC is averaging 452.8 yards and 34.4 points per game this season while the defense is averaging 333.7 yards and 19.9 points allowed.

CSM VS. MODESTO HISTORY
The Bulldogs and Pirates will meet for the second time this season. Modesto handed CSM its lone loss this year, a narrow 23-20 setback, during Week 3 at MJC.
Prior to the loss, the Bulldogs had won seven straight meetings. CSM head coach Tim Tulloch is 3-0 in the postseason vs. Modesto. San Mateo has taken 10 of the last 13 games between the two squads.
